As used here, refers to the shape of a plant's overall inflorescence, that is typically taller than broad, with the longest branches at or near the base of the inflorescence, and the branches above becoming progressively shorter.  "Pyramidal" is an alternative term sometimes used to refer to this type of inflorescence.
